My sister took her grandson who was sick 2yr old to this hospital. They were there for about an hour. No one else was there and a white lady with two kids walked in and was immediately taken back. My sister asked front desk about it and the receptionist lied and said they were there before her. It was a blatant lie as my sis was only one in waiting room. The lady kept saying "I don't know how long wait will be". I mean really?? How damn obvious is this racism. This hospital is horrible for many reasons other than this situation. How can this be in Martha's Vineyard of all places?
Everything about my mother's experience at this Hospital was exceptional. My mom broke her hip on the Island when visiting friends. From the EMT and Paramedics who brought her in, to the ER staff, surgery teams, nurses, cnas, doctors, PAs, food service team, OT, PT, and everyone else was friendly, efficient and made her feel well cared for.
That team saved my life, guide by Jesus! I was on apartment where we can see this beautiful sunset late afternoon, with diagnose of DVT and Pulmonary embolism. I was treated and received very attention and could get back to my country.
While the staff was kind, they were not and still are not capable. I was treated last year and
My Mom and I were surprised by the excellent quality of the food. First of all, if you are visiting a patient, they graciously provide you a meal. I couldn't believe it. The menu for patients is diverse and varies for those with dietary restrictions. My mother, who knows good food, has been here for almost a month and has not gotten tired if the food or the choices yet! I had the yankee pot roast one night and it was heavenly. The meat was so tender and the flavors were perfect. I'd order it in any restaurant.
misdiagnosed and mistreated by MV Hospital. Although 17 messages had been left with several departments over four months, not a single phone call was returned. Upon finally reaching something other than an answering machine, George Fitton said he had received my message but regardless had failed to return my call. Now that I am represented by council he, nor anyone in the hospital will speak to me regarding the misdiagnosis or treatment I received. No communication or resolve has been attempted by the hospital. It seems they are well aware of their inability to properly treat patients and refuse to confront such serious issues. For your own safety and health. DO NOT GO HERE!
Bottom line, if you or your loved ones need medical care, you will be very happy with every aspect of your care here.
2am ER no other patients waiting took over 45 min to be admitted another 45 for the doctor, nurses and doctors have the demeanor of people who hate their jobs sick of their lives and jaded. Billing department is horrible, if we had another option... For emergency services id use it. But unfortunately we dont, so get ready to be over charged by doctirs n a staff who act as if doing their jobs is a chore not verry helpful in an ER situation. Doctors affiliated with this hospitals beauricracy and not the ER are much better, as in PCP, takes almost all insurance coverage but still lacking in one area or another. Its like the doctors and nurses who need to see a doctor are giving you care and not pleased about it.
The Hospital is beautiful. It looks like a 5 star hotel, with wood floors, beautiful private rooms and original Island artwork. Patient rooms have a view of the ocean or the lovely rooftop garden, where patients and visitors can also sit outside. They also have a pull out sofa visitors can sleep on.
