Well run ferry service. We have been using steamship authority for over 15 years, they are always on schedule and all employees I've dealt with have been helpful and curious.

Steamship Authority is the best way to travel to the Vineyard. The boats are fast, well kept, and up to date, and the staff is always helpful. They are willing to accommodate just about anyone, and are always able to answer any questions that you have. I have never been disappointed by the Steamship Authority, and I don't see that changing any time soon.
Nice ride, loading is on a first come first serve basis and the reservation for vehicle transportation is always backed up, so plan ahead. And if you were looking for friendly crew, better to look somewhere else. They seem to just stricktly be down to business.
The ferry service from Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard was nice and fast. You can bring your car and your bike and your dog. I saw someone tow a boat onto the ferry. There is a very large pay parking lot several miles away in Falmouth with free shuttle service on buses. These buses can transport your bicycle. Many people had luggage and a guy had a set of golf clubs on the shuttle. No problem. The Achilles heel is in the actual purchasing of tickets which is bizarrely inefficient in comparison to other aspects of the operation. In all, the ferry service was good and the experience was pleasant and I'd easily recommend it.
